Parallels

Parallels is Cell’s new counterpart platform bringing together an artist and a writer to respond to discussions and themes around the exhibition. Each edition, will take the form of a folded A1 poster and a small publication, beautifully packaged and, to replace our printed invitations, delivered by post. 6 editions of 500 will be published per year for each exhibition and conceived as a collectable series to primarily support new writing and offer specifically commissioned artists editions.

 
Artwork and publication will be developed in parallel to the exhibitions programme offering a new print platform to provide further testing ground for an exhibiting artist alongside an equivalent platform for a writer to create new work as a continuation of their own research.
 
In recent years Cell has supported some of the most compelling emergent artists, and are known for catalyzing early stage careers by providing professional development and sharing their work and ideas to the wider public. Many have since become important international contributors to the contemporary art scene, such as Eddie Peake, Yuri Pattison, Celia Hempton, Rachel Reupke, Jessica Warboys, Benedict Drew, Angelo Plessas and Adham Faramawy. Your subscription will offer a unique opportunity to contribute towards Cell’s inaugural new writing commissions and support a future generation of practitioners in 2016/17.

The 12 month subscription includes:
  • 6 x Artist’s posters - Digitally printed in full-colour, double-sided on 135gsm matt coated art paper. Edition of 500
  • 6 x Writer’s publications - A5, 16-20 pages, approximately 3000 words and digitally printed on 170gsm matt coated paper in full colour. Coherently designed as a collectible small publication series. Edition of 500
  • Packaging - Packaged in an A4 archival cardboard box, (letterbox compliant). Poster is sleeved in protective clear plastic,with further interior packaging for a safe postal delivery.
