Accessibility information

There is level access to the main entrance of Cell Project Space with shared multi-use visitor car parking space inside a gated area directly off Cambridge Heath Road. To ensure that we make a parking space available for you we advise to book ahead with gallery staff by contacting: info@cellprojects.org. or calling our main line number : +44(0)208 9816336. The building has a double door yard entrance and a porters door entrance for visitors to the gallery. The entrance has an accessible door bell for wheelchair users to alert gallery staff to open the yard double doors.

Outdoor areas within the building are kept clear at all times, and there is a non-gender-specific toilet facilitiy located by the main entrance of the building on the ground floor. There are shallow ramps inside the yard, into the reading room, gallery office and the ground floor event space (all are wheelchair accessible). Cell Project Space Gallery is situated on the first floor and has a wheelchair lift for use by visitors. Staff will assist if needed.

Please note there are no wheelchair accessible toilets in the building, although there is a fully accessible toilet available in The Museum of Childhood 100 metres from the gallery on Cambridge Heath Road. If you have an access requirement which we haven’t listed here, please get in touch in advance of your visit and we will make our best endeavours to help you. Contact Jessie Krish - jessie[at]cellprojects.org.

The gallery's wheelchair lift was funded by Arts Council England as part of "Adjustments" a series of exhibitions and critical debates to creatively address transitional thinking on disability equality and inclusion and to facilitate 'Practical Mechanics' 2006 a solo exhibition by artist Ben Cove (1974-2016).

Access adjustments were made in consultation with artist Carolyn Lazard in 2019.
