Alan Currall

The interests of artist Alan Currall lie in investigating human nature, dealing with questions of belief and identity, and the limitations of our capacity to understand these concepts. Currall is best known for his performance to camera single channel video works, often existing out of simple actions or monologues.

Currall has had solo exhibitions at GOMA, Glasgow, Millais Gallery, Southampton and The Jerwood Gallery, London. He has exhibited in Melbourne, Australia, Malmo, Sweden and New York. He was selected as Critics! Choice at FACT, Liverpool in 2004 and was part of the touring show "Reality Check; Recent Developments in British Photography and Video' in 2003/4. He is now an Academic Researcher at Glasgow School of Art where he has lectured since 1997, currently in the department of Sculpture and Environmental Art.
