Every bit of our geographic panorama is synthetic. Everything that grows is cultivated, modified, or harvested in order to service the needs of the spreading human termite mounds which form cities. Yet beneath this synthetic global skin there lurks an awesome malevolence, which seems to be sending us messages and warnings. The peaceful pasture is a wolf in sheeps clothing; the virtual world becomes more desirable than the real world, and every human achievement is a defeat for our species longevity as we understand it. The human psyche is evolving in this pressure cooker. Surface Tension is reacting and responding to this paradigm shift in homosapiens empathy with their environment, in the same sense as a medium is a vessel for messages from beyond.
